There will be a watch system in place which will set by the Skipper.
There will be a mixture of scheduled and unscheduled stops ashore which will be mostly governed by weather conditions and requirements to refuel/reprovision as needed. Stops will either last a few hours or potentially a day or two (depending on weather) but you can expect to be at sea for up to 14 days between stops.
SLEEPING
The Clipper 68 has open-plan sleeping quarters where each crew member will have their own bunk and space for some storage. Crew members will need to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow along with any other sleeping aids (eyemask/earplugs etc.). Bunks can be fitted with a privacy curtain if required.

MARINE RESEARCH
Throughout the challenge, crew members will be conducting a series of simple, yet vital ‘citizen science’ projects which are being managed in partnership with the Marine Research Institute of Iceland. This will include surface water sampling to be later analysed for eDNA and microfibres as part of a Europe-wide research programme, monitoring the health of our oceans. In addition to this, crew members will be asked to document whale/dolphin sightings to assess the migratory patterns of different species of marine mammals.
