SKIRR Adventures’ debut expedition, a unique 4,802 nautical mile long high latitude expedition to some of the most remarkable and remote places on the planet, including Greenland and the infamous Scoresby Sund, recently set sail from Portsmouth heading to the Scottish Isles.
The Leg took ten days to complete, with adventure seekers seeing some of the most spectacular sunsets and wildlife along the way.
Skipper Emily Caruso reflects on her experience leading one of two SKIRR Adventures yachts on the trip: “A passage of all conditions from flat calm to gale force winds in the Irish Sea. Anchoring off Islay was welcome respite and marked the beginning of a fantastic tour of the Western Isles including Oban, Tobermorey and Kerrera. It was the perfect start to our expedition as we put both boat and crew through their paces and reaped the benefits at the end”.
