2026 EXPEDITION OVERVIEW
WHAT’S NEW FOR 2026?
SKIRR Adventures returns for 2026 with a slightly different format to previous expeditions, maximising the opportunity for you to experience the unique thrill of adventure sailing in the high latitudes.
From our previous four expeditions to the Arctic, it’s become clear that the demand for sailing between Iceland and Greenland has continued to grow as the appeal of cruising past towering icebergs, through expansive fjords and visiting remote, unspoilt locations makes this experience a must-do for any sailors’ bucket list.
As a result, this years’ adventure will feature two expedition routes between Iceland and Greenland which will be repeated on separate dates between July and September 2026.
In addition to this, for 2026, you can join us as crew for one of two offshore passages from Gosport to Iceland in June, or Iceland to Gosport in September.

EXPEDITION ROUTES
ICELAND – GREENLAND – ICELAND
Our two expedition routes start/finish in the Icelandic locations of either Reykjavik or Isafjordur and each one will take place over two separate dates.
Depending on conditions, each expedition follows a different route to Greenland, offering breath-taking scenery, varied sailing conditions and an incredible high latitude adventure.
The exact route will be decided by the weather and ice conditions at the time of departure.

OFFSHORE PASSAGES

At either end of the SKIRR Adventures 2026 expedition routes, there is an offshore passage that will see you sail either from Portsmouth, UK to Iceland or Iceland to Portsmouth, UK.
These passages provide an opportunity for you to gain valuable experience ahead of joining one of the expeditions, or extend your expedition to incorporate an exhilarating offshore passage across the North Atlantic.

Skipper and Guides
Leading your group are three professional sailors who will have, on average, more than 40,000 nm of ocean crossing experience.
Your expedition guide is experienced in arctic sailing and exploration, fully equipped to ensure you can explore safely.
As well as outstanding sailing skills, our professional skippers have excellent people-management and leadership skills, and have played a key role coaching and developing Race Crew in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
